Utah State University announced on March 16 that senior track and field athlete Logan Hammer has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 15. The award is determined by a state-wide media panel.
The recognition highlights Hammer’s recent performance at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, where he earned second team All-American honors by clearing 5.40 meters (17-8.5) in the men’s pole vault, tying for 14th place. This achievement adds to his record as a three-time Mountain West champion in the event and makes him the eighth four-time All-American in Utah State track and field history.
America First Credit Union sponsors this weekly award and donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships at Utah State University.
Other nominees for Student-Athlete of the Week included MJ Collins Jr. from men’s basketball, who was named tournament MVP after helping Utah State secure a Mountain West Tournament title; Nyla Morabito from gymnastics, who shared a vault title and tied for second on floor at a tri meet; Kya Pratt from softball, who led her team with strong offensive performances during a split week; Dmitri Goubin from men’s tennis, who posted wins in both doubles and singles play; and Maria Paula Ramos Garcia from women’s tennis, who recorded multiple victories as her team began conference play.
The university also provided a list of previous winners for the 2025-26 academic year across various sports disciplines.
