Utah State University announced on Mar. 20 that six of its women’s gymnastics athletes have earned a total of seven All-Mountain West honors, as revealed by the conference office.

The recognition highlights the achievements of Utah State’s gymnasts during the season and underscores their competitive standing within the Mountain West Conference. The awards are based on National Qualifying Scores, with first-team honors going to the top three performers in each event and second-team honors to those ranked fourth through sixth.

Junior Sydney Jelen received first-team honors on beam and second-team honors on bars, marking her second consecutive year as a first-team selection for beam. Jelen has won two beam titles this season and posted a career-high-tying score of 9.875 twice. She also added two bar titles, including a career-best 9.95 against Oregon State, which ties for the 11th-highest score in program history.

Junior Nyla Morabito was named first-team All-Mountain West on vault for the second straight year after claiming nine vault titles this season—tied for most in a single season at Utah State. Junior Isabella Vater earned her second all-conference honor with a first-team selection on floor, while junior Mya Witte received her first career accolade as a first-team honoree on beam.

Sophomores Olivia Orengo and Lundyn VanderToolen both secured first-team recognition on bars. Orengo achieved two bar titles this year with a career-high score of 9.900 at San José State, while VanderToolen won one bar title and matched her personal best at the same meet.

Other conference awards included Air Force’s Maggie Slife being named Gymnast of the Year and winning all four specialist awards, San José State’s Sophie Patterson earning Freshman of the Year, and Air Force’s Jennifer Green receiving Coach of the Year.

Utah State will next compete in Boise, Idaho, aiming to defend its title at the third annual Mountain West Championships scheduled for Saturday, March 21.
