Former Utah State goalkeeper Taylor Rath has signed a professional contract with the National Women’s Soccer League’s Chicago Stars, the organization announced on March 19.
Rath’s move to the professional ranks marks a significant step in her soccer career after a standout season at Utah State. Her achievements at the collegiate level have positioned her for this new opportunity.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to join the Chicago Stars and step into this next chapter,” Rath said. “I’m grateful to be part of a club with such high standards and ambition. I’m looking forward to getting to work, continuing to grow, and doing whatever I can to help the team succeed.”
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rath transferred from Pepperdine for her senior season at Utah State. She earned all-Mountain West second team honors in 2025 and played a key role in helping Utah State secure its third consecutive Mountain West tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Rath was also named to the league’s all-newcomer team and received Most Valuable Player honors at the 2025 Mountain West Tournament after making two crucial penalty kick saves in the championship match.
During her time with Utah State, Rath made 18 appearances and started 20 matches, totaling 1,544 minutes as goalkeeper. She recorded a goals against average of 0.93, allowed only 16 goals, achieved five shutouts, and made 39 saves—including five in an NCAA Tournament first round game against BYU.
