Merlin Olsen born September 15, 1940, in Logan, Utah
Merlin Olsen was born September 15, 1940, in Logan, Utah. He played college football at Utah State University, winning the Outland Trophy in 1961. Olsen played defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams for 15 years, earning 14 Pro Bowl selections. He was inducted into the Pro Football and College Football Halls of Fame. After football, Olsen worked as a TV commentator and actor, known for Little House on the Prairie. Utah State named its football field after him in 2009. His life and career remain tied to Logan through his education and lasting influence on the community. Olsen passed away in 2010.
