Utah State University announced on March 17 that head softball coach Todd Judge has resigned, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Cameron Walker, Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics.

The change in leadership comes as the university looks to move forward with its softball program. Assistant coach Shelby Thompson will take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

“I am thankful for the time Todd invested in the softball program,” Walker said. “We have confidence in Shelby’s ability to lead the team during this transition. I’m looking forward to the future of the softball program and supporting our student-athletes.”

The university also confirmed that a national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.

This transition marks a significant moment for Utah State’s softball team as it prepares for new leadership and continues its current season.
