Utah State was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on March 22 following a 78-66 loss to top-seeded Arizona in the second round at Viejas Arena in San Diego.
The Aggies concluded their season with a record of 29-7, marking the third-most wins in program history. This appearance was Utah State’s second trip to the tournament’s second round in three years and sixth overall.
Garry Clark led Utah State with 13 points and six rebounds, while MJ Collins Jr. contributed 12 points and Drake Allen added 11. The team shot just over 39 percent from the field and made eight of its twenty-five attempts from three-point range. At the free throw line, Utah State converted nearly seventy-three percent of its shots.
Arizona’s Jaden Bradley scored a game-high eighteen points as his team shot slightly better than Utah State from both inside and beyond the arc. The Wildcats also held a significant rebounding advantage, outpacing Utah State by twenty-eight boards, which helped them earn more second-chance points.
Despite falling behind early, Utah State narrowed an eighteen-point deficit down to four midway through the second half before Arizona closed out the game on a decisive run. The Aggies had only four turnovers compared to eleven for Arizona but were unable to overcome their opponent’s rebounding strength.
