Utah State’s football team completed its third week of spring practice, according to an April 4 update from the program. Senior running back Javen Jacobs provided a summary of the team’s progress after their ninth practice session, which took place Saturday morning on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium.
Spring practices are a key part of preparation for the upcoming season, allowing coaches and players to evaluate performance and build team cohesion. These sessions give returning athletes and new recruits an opportunity to demonstrate their skills ahead of fall training camp.
Jacobs recapped the developments from the first three weeks, reflecting on how the team has worked through drills and scrimmages designed to improve both offense and defense. The focus during this period is often on fundamentals, conditioning, and integrating new playbooks or strategies introduced by coaching staff.
The completion of nine practices marks a significant point in Utah State’s offseason schedule as they continue preparations for future competitions. Further updates are expected as spring practice continues in advance of any public scrimmages or events that may be scheduled before summer break.
