Utah State gymnastics finished fourth in Session 1 of the second round at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on April 2, scoring a total of 195.750 inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The result marks Utah State’s 29th appearance at an NCAA Regional and its first time reaching the second round since 2022. The Aggies, ranked No. 26 nationally, ended their season with a record of 19-8, which is the sixth highest win total in program history.
During Thursday’s meet, Utah State began on floor exercise with a score of 49.100. Individual performances included scores of 9.850 from juniors Nyla Morabito and Mara Gruber, tying them for eleventh place on that event. On vault, Utah State posted its fourth-best score of the season with a team total of 49.000; junior Mya Witte achieved a career-high score of 9.825 and Morabito led with another strong performance at 9.850.
On uneven bars, junior Sydney Jelen paced the Aggies with a score of 9.850 in the leadoff spot to tie for fourth overall as Utah State totaled a team score of 48.925 for that rotation. The meet concluded on balance beam where Jelen again led her team with a mark of 9.825 as part of an overall beam score for Utah State at 48.725.
Stanford placed first in Session I with a team score of 197.175 while Michigan finished second at 196.600; both teams advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals from this session according to official results released by event organizers during competition day.
