Utah State gymnastics finished second with a score of 196.300 at the Arizona State Tri Meet held in Tempe, Arizona, on March 15. The meet took place inside Desert Financial Arena and marked the end of the regular season for the Aggies.

This result brings Utah State’s regular season record to 16-5, tying for the fourth-most wins in program history and representing their best mark since 1986. The team has now scored 196.000 or better in five consecutive meets, matching a program record set in 2021. Overall, Utah State has posted six scores of at least 196.000 this year, which is the third-highest total in school history.

Arizona State won the meet with a score of 196.500, while Southeast Missouri placed third with 193.750. Utah State recorded event scores of 48.975 on bars, 49.150 on beam, 49.150 on floor, and 49.025 on vault.

The Aggies saw several standout performances during the competition. Junior Nyla Morabito and sophomore Kaylie Medrano tied for first place on vault with scores of 9.825; this matched Medrano’s career high and gave Morabito her ninth vault title this season—tying a school record set by Michelle Pohl in 1983—and her twelfth overall title this year as a junior, which ranks fifth all-time at Utah State for that class year.

Freshman Charley Laufer earned her first career title by tying for first place on bars with a score of 9.850.

Looking ahead, Utah State will compete next at the Mountain West Championships in Boise, Idaho, scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at 6 p.m., where they aim to defend their conference title after winning last year’s championship.
