Utah State gymnastics will compete against Stanford, Michigan, and North Carolina in the NCAA Regional Second Round – Session I on April 2 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The event is significant as Utah State qualifies for the second round of regionals for the first time since 2022. The team is making its 29th appearance at an NCAA Regional as a program.
The meet will be held at Pete Maravich Assembly Center and begin at noon Mountain Time. It will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live scoring available via Virtius. Utah State will start on floor exercise and finish on balance beam during the competition.
Head coach Kristin White said, “We are thrilled to be heading to Baton Rouge for NCAA Regionals. Our team is prepared and ready to make a statement. Automatically qualifying to the second round is an incredible accomplishment for our women and we look forward to having our best meet of the season on Thursday.”
This season, Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West Conference (MW) with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.905 and holds top conference rankings across several events: beam (25th nationally), bars (26th), floor (29th), and vault (36th). Individual gymnasts have also achieved high rankings; junior Nyla Morabito leads with a third-place MW ranking on vault, while juniors Sydney Jelen and Mya Witte are tied for third in MW beam standings.
The Aggies recently won both regular season and postseason Mountain West championships—marking their ninth overall conference title—and set school records including six consecutive scores over 196.000 points this year. Junior Mya Witte was named Mountain West Championship MVP after winning beam with a career-high score of 9.950, one of the top marks in school history.
Looking ahead, if Utah State finishes among the top two teams in their session Thursday, they would advance to Saturday’s regional final where they could face LSU, Clemson, Auburn or another advancing team.
