Utah State softball lost the final game of its three-game series against No. 23 Grand Canyon on March 29, with a score of 7-0 at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field.

The loss marks another setback for Utah State (14-20, 3-6 Mountain West), which struggled offensively throughout the contest. The Aggies did not record their first hit until the fifth inning and finished with just two hits overall.

Grand Canyon scored five of its seven runs in the second and third innings, capitalizing on walks as Utah State pitchers allowed seven free passes during the game. Despite holding Grand Canyon to six hits—the fewest by an opponent in a conference game this season for Utah State—the Aggies could not convert defensively or at bat.

Senior outfielder Kya Pratt recorded a double, while freshman infielder Jazmin Ramirez added a single for Utah State’s only hits. Three pitchers appeared for the Aggies: freshman Kendall Cochran started and pitched 1.1 innings, senior Denay Smith also went 1.1 innings, and senior Rylie Pindel finished out the final 4.1 innings allowing just two hits and one earned run.

Looking ahead, Utah State will travel to San Diego for a three-game weekend series against San Diego State from April 2 to April 4.
