Utah State University’s softball team lost to Utah Tech 4-0 on Sunday at Karl Brooks Field in St. George, concluding their participation in the Beehive Classic. The Aggies now have a season record of 10 wins and 10 losses.

Utah State’s offense was limited, with the team managing only three hits and being shut out for the second time this season. All four runs by Utah Tech were scored during the third inning, which also accounted for half of their total hits in the game. The scoring began with an RBI double, followed by a strikeout from Utah State to get the second out. However, Utah Tech then produced a two-RBI double and an RBI single to complete their four-run inning.

Freshman pitcher Kendall Cochran started for Utah State, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing seven hits and four earned runs while facing 14 batters. She was replaced by freshman Jordyn Lish, who finished the game with 3.1 innings pitched, giving up three hits and no earned runs while striking out three batters.

Utah State will next play a three-game series against Kansas in Lawrence next weekend. The teams are scheduled to play two games on Friday, March 6, at noon and 2:30 p.m. (MT), followed by one game on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. (MT).
