Utah State softball will continue its Mountain West schedule with a three-game home series against Nevada from March 20 to 22. The Aggies, currently holding a 13-15 overall record and 2-1 in conference play, are set for their conference home opener at Johnson Field.

The matchup is significant as Utah State aims to build on its recent success in the Mountain West. Last week, the Aggies secured back-to-back wins over Fresno State before dropping the series finale, marking their fourth conference-opening series win in five seasons and their first series victory over Fresno State since 2017.

Fans can follow all three games via live stream on the Mountain West Network and access live stats through StatBroadcast. Updates will also be available on USU’s softball social media pages and website. Historically, Utah State trails Nevada in head-to-head meetings, with a record of 32-38 overall and 12-13 at home. In last season’s series at Reno, the Aggies went 1-2 against the Wolf Pack.

Several players have made notable contributions this season. Freshman pitcher Kendall Cochran recently threw a complete game with seven strikeouts against Idaho State, while senior catcher Kaylee Erickson hit a two-run homer in that contest. Senior infielder Alex Bunton has led the team offensively since conference play began, posting a .545 batting average over four games. Sophomore outfielder Faith Kroening has started every game this year after limited action last season and is now fourth on the team with a .326 average.

Utah State ranks among national leaders in double plays turned (34th) and times hit by pitch (33rd). Senior infielder Kenzee Olsen recorded her first career grand slam earlier this season against Seton Hall. The pitching staff has also excelled; senior Emmalyn Brinka pitched two complete games during opening week, while senior Rylie Pindel and freshman Cochran contributed strong performances.

This season marks Utah State’s final year in the Mountain West Conference before joining the Pac-12 on July 1, alongside several other institutions. Next weekend, Utah State will host No. 23 Grand Canyon for another three-game series.
