Utah State won the 2026 Mountain West Postseason Championship on March 14 with a 73-62 win over San Diego State in Las Vegas. The Aggies were led by Tournament MVP MJ Collins Jr., who scored 20 points, and secured their third Mountain West postseason title in the last eight years and the eleventh in program history.

The victory is significant as Utah State becomes only the seventh program in Mountain West history to win both the regular season and postseason titles. With this win, Utah State (28-6) also earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, marking its fourth consecutive appearance—a school record.

Collins was joined on the All-Tournament team by graduate guard Drake Allen and junior guard Mason Falslev. Falslev contributed 16 points, six assists, and four rebounds, while Allen added 13 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Garry Clark also scored in double figures with 11 points and six rebounds. The game’s turning point came at the 5:13 mark of the second half when Collins hit a three-pointer followed by two free throws from senior forward Zach Keller for a five-point play that extended Utah State’s lead to nine.

Utah State finished shooting 46.2 percent from the field and had just six turnovers. San Diego State was led by Reese Dixon-Waters with 20 points but could not close the gap after falling behind late in the second half.

With this championship, Utah State will learn its NCAA Tournament seed and matchup during Selection Sunday on March 15 at a televised event hosted at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The event is open to fans and media.
