Utah State head women’s basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced on Apr. 2 the signing of Kylani Rookstool to the team.

The addition of Rookstool is expected to strengthen Utah State’s roster with her scoring ability and experience. Brooks said, “Kylani is a player we’re really excited to bring into our program. She’s a proven scorer who has produced at a high level and what stands out most is her efficiency. To lead your team in field goal percentage and three-point percentage speaks to her shot selection and ability to stretch the floor, and being top-three in free throw percentage shows her consistency. She brings leadership, confidence, and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways on the offensive end. We’re looking forward to what she can add to our group right away, both in terms of production and veteran presence.”

Rookstool played for Western Oregon during the 2025-26 season where she started all 28 games, averaging 15.5 points per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from three-point range. Her performance earned her unanimous first-team all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference honors as she also contributed 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while helping Western Oregon reach the semifinals of their conference championships.

She previously played one season at North Idaho College where she averaged nearly 15 points per game with strong shooting percentages from both inside and outside the arc as well as from the free throw line (85.3 percent). Rookstool began her collegiate career at University of Saint Katherine in San Marcos, California.

Originally from Snohomish, Washington, Rookstool attended Glacier Peak High School where she was named first-team all-conference during both her junior and senior years along with earning team MVP honors as a senior.

Brooks said he expects Rookstool’s leadership qualities will benefit Utah State immediately as they prepare for their next season.
