The American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed course is designed to train bystanders to stop uncontrolled bleeding in emergency situations. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths will occur. You will learn how to stop life threatening bleeding by using your hands to apply pressure to the wound, packing a wound, and correctly applying a tourniquet. The class will be held in the Cardiac Rehab Classroom located on the south side of the Medical Office Building.
